Something I have noticed on this board over the years - as we get ready to play a big game where we are sizable underdogs.
  • Early Week (Sun-Tue) - the majority of the board doesn't think we have a chance to win the game.
  • Mid-Week (Wed-Thu) - optimism begins to show and a larger number of members begin to believe we have a chance.
  • End of Week (Fri-Sat) - large number of fans think we will win and some state we will have a blowout victory.
Not that there is anything wrong with this approach or folks getting excited, but I just dont understand what happens during the week to make some people change their minds? Is it the excitement for the game in general, is it wishful thinking, did some of us start drinking on Thursday and roll right through Saturday? This post isn't meant to call out or offend anyone or a particular group of people, but rather a simple observation I have noticed during games in which we are considerable underdogs. Anyone else notice this phenomenon?
