But here we are. I know baseball did nothing in the post season in 23 and 24 but we were relevant and in the top 5-10 rankings the entire season. We had that hope and we had that energy before every series and every game. I'm just not feeling that with football and now basketball. It is a real real bummer in basketball. I'm just not feeling it with this group. Its a combination of cursed by injuries, sickness, etc etc. Also it doesn't appear that we have any grit to us, we aren't prepared for end game situations, and we don't have that extreme care factor.
I think guys are trying to get over injuries but they aren't exactly going above and beyond to get out there and play through it. This is just the era we are in right now. Aidoo and Davis just aren't what we thought they were, the 5 stars are more like high 3 stars, and we don't have enough guys to sit players that are dogging it or are injured.
From the looks of last night, our fanbase can sense it too. The best crowd we had all season was halfway across the country in New York. After the last two horribly disappointing seasons (even though we saved 22-23 with the KU win) marred by injuries, drama, discontent, and now this one...... I'm just tired. I'm tired of getting excited every season with early wins and then tanking in January every single frickin year. I've been as hardcore of a razorback basketball fan as hardcore can get but I think we are less than 40 days away from baseball now. I just cannot do it and hang out to every single game with the hope that this is the game that turns our season around and it never happens.
My hope for Arkansas basketball is in Meleek Thomas and Darius Acuff. This season is another washout. We better build a team AND DEPTH around those two top ten guards.
