Sam disclaimer - I want Sam to be successful, he’s a good guy, I speak to him almost every game
But as I step back and take off Hog colored glasses in todays college football world
He’s never had head coach experience, learning on the job
He’s not an offensive guru
He’s not a defensive guru
He is an OL guru (worst position on the field last year in year 4)
He doesn’t like social media or embrace it to help
He doesn’t like NIL or embrace it to help
He’s not really a great PR guy outside of AR fans
He does not inspire confidence in pressers
He was suppose to be able to build a great staff (Fountain only one still here)
On a positive note
He does appear to be a players coach (not sure they play hard for him though)
He does appear to let his coordinators call the shots
He connects with AR people and fans
What else am I missing?
Thoughts?
Does the CEO type coach work with the above ^^^ conditions in todays college game?
Doesn’t bode well for Sam, hope he (for his, teams and fans sake) gets it going and does better in SEC play
