Okay, this isn't going to sound earth-shattering, but this is solid information, so I'm reporting it. If it doesn't happen people will say I didn't know anything, but this isn't gossip or rumor, even though it's not a hard timeline.
The Arkansas plane will be in North Carolina early this week for reasons other than the coaching search, but it's going to be on standby in case a coach needs to be picked up somewhere early this week. There is a 50/50 chance a coach could be named by Tuesday of this week and potentially earlier. Again, North Carolina is an unrelated deal.
I do not have a name for you at this point. A lot of my information has come from people outside the UA. Most of my experience dealing with this stuff tells me to spend most of my time looking for information out there and not in here because the UA doesn't say much. But this particular bit of information comes from here.
I know, I hate that percentage too but just reporting what was told on 50/50.
Me speculating...that makes me wonder if they're waiting for someone who is playing next Saturday (Petersen?) to make a decision and tell them yes or no by early next week (Monday or Tuesday). I speculate that if that guy says no then they announce a coach whose regular season is over and is ready to come on board (Franklin?). If he says yes then an announcement will not be made this week and they'll announce him the next week. That's me speculating.
