Last night CP8 game. Runner on 1st and 2nd. Batter hits a hard ball down the 1st base line. Hits the runner and bounces off into RF. Both runners score and the batter ends up on 3rd.
Coach of the fielding team runs out saying the ball hit the runner. Coach of batting team says the runner was still on base. 16 year old ump rules the runner was still on 1st therefore no out.
What's the rule? I get mixed info on the web. Does it mater that he was still on the base? Is it still an out? Should it have at least been a dead ball at some point?
