Don't have the vid of Leach but quotes from the Miss State site:
Head coach Mike Leach, Martin Emerson, KJ Costello, Dillon Johnson, and Erroll Thomspon spent some time with the media following the Bulldogs' 21-14 loss over Arkansas on Saturday night.
Leach said that Arkansas gave Costello and Mississippi State a ton of different looks. He felt like a lot of their wounds were self-inflicted.
Leach also said that he felt like at practice they did not have that "edge" to them this week at practice.
He said that he thinks the team tried to make too much happen offensively,
No update was given on the status of Kylin Hill. he said that the young backs played well given that they did not have much experience and were pressed into service.
He said that he thought there was some miscommunications and poor adjustments that led to the big plays. Thought they stepped up and played admirably.
Martin said that he felt like there were some missed opportunities
Emerson declined to answer the questions about the two coverage busts
He said that he tells the young guys that they need them, and continues to bring them along. He tells them that there is going to be pain, but you gotta get past it.
Said that he felt like their sense of urgency was improved in the second half. He wishes they would have been able to come out with that same urgency.
KJ said that the Arkansas defense came out, rushed three, and dropped eight a lot.
Said that there was one drive he could remember where they took what the defense gave them the entire drive. Wishes he could have done that for 5-6 drives.
He will be watching the tape tonight to see what he needs to do to improve moving forward.
KJ said that there were so many opportunities to take momentum, but they were unable to seize it. Took full responsibility for the turnovers, and for sliding before reaching the sticks.
Dillon said that he has been preparing himself for this day, and that it has always been a "next man up" mentality.
He said that it felt great to be the ball carrier on those 4th down conversions. Said that the feeling when he scored his first touchdown was unbelievable.
Dillon said that Arkansas wanted this one more than they did.
Erroll said that he felt the team did an okay job stopping the run, but not good enough without getting the win. He said that it is frustrating any time you take a loss at home. Said that the credit goes to Arkansas for doing what they had to do to get the win.
He said that this loss was a learning experience.
