@mcbmd posted elsewhere, drug companies have stopped refilling prescriptions for lupus and other patients who need the drug and the pills have run dry. If there was more scientific evidence that the drug really does have a significant impact on life or death patients, I don’t think they’d make that call.
I don’t think it would stop a dying patient from getting the drug if they really wanted it but it will stop other, healthier covid patients from convincing their doctors from writing a script unnecessarily
