POLL: Putin in Ukraine...what should we do?

She's on deck for 2016! Republicans have clearly lost any ability to appeal to enough Americans to win the White House.

overly simplified. Russia would simply cut off petroleum/gas to Europe and that is a much bigger card to play than ours. I'm sure it' doesn't fit your Fox narrative, but it's factual.

Russia is already the largest supplier of gas to Europe, Asia, etc. As a matter of fact the Ukrainian ex-prez negotiated a very favorable gas contract with Russia along with a loan to stay solvent. That action brought Ukraine much closer to Russia and was one of the items that led to his ouster. The deal was full of favorable language for Russia that basically allows them to jack up the price at their discretion.

I agree that Ukraine is strategic for them. Russia has a giant naval base there. My point is they need to reinstall the ousted leader, not take over the country. It would not help them to do so. The president was democratically elected. If they want him out they need to impeach him and elect another one.

The hidden narrative in the Syrian conflict is gas pipelines. Google "pipelineistan" and see what you come up with.

I love how everyone forgets that Russia actually invaded nd rformed military strikes against Georgia when Bush was POTUS but let's not let facts interfere with a good ole Obama roastin.
So your partisanship forces you to bash Bush yet support Obama for similar actions and then bad mouth other for doing the exact same in reverse? Do you not see the pure hippocracy in your statement?

It was weak of both presidents.

It wasn't our business when Bush was in office and it's not ours now. Stop drinking the little R and the little D kool aid . Closing on on 20 trillion dollars in debt we can't afford to fight anyone. Bush ran up about 6 trillion in that debt and Obama has fun up another 12 trillion . Our worst enemies have been our last two presidents.

No, the money would be from the United States. Kerry described the money as loans that Congress would need to approve of, but it would be American money.

It's pretty simple really. It's not our concern. If we were concerned with human rights though we would have liberated North Korean civilians from the nazi style concentration camps.

Obama made completely hollow threats to Syria and Putin knows that. Obama had a wonderful excuse to be in Russia for the Olympics. This would have given him ample time to have SEVERAL diplomatc meetings with Putin, but he chose to stay here in protest of Putin's homophobic policies and further piss him off by sending an entirely gay delegate.

Obama can't do a damn thing to make Putin blink right now because of the position he put himself in with the guy. We shouldn't do anything at all now

This. I love how people want a "president with balls" who threatens military force or invades a country like Iraq because they have the same religion as the terrorist we want. Then after thousands of dead Americans, and many more dead innocents along with trillions in debt, they now want a President who will face off with Russia and perhaps create a war that would dwarf what they got last time.

I'm sick and tired of every issue on every continent being an American one where we enter the fray and have more of our soldiers killed as a result. Condemn it, sanction it, but make it clear we're not the world's police anymore. I don't give a damn if that looks weak. We're spending more money on our military than the next 10 nations COMBINED and that is ludicrous enough. Germany, France and Europe need to lead there; it affects them more. China needs to lead on N. Korea, they helped create that monster and now it's their problem. Defend our direct interests and do sanctions on the rest.

My wife works for DHS giving food stamps out. She says Dems. have it locked up forever. The uneducated and free loaders will vote Dem from now on.

Buy Gold and Apple stock, even people on Food stamps have I-phones.

Fox narative? Thats a joke right?

remind me again why we wouldnt want a brand new (and extremely large) consumer of US produced oil products if Russia did decide to cut off Europ? Its a BS claim that is an insult of our intelligence.

Saudi, US, etc would all LOVE to own the European oil market.

If anyond needs to stop watching a politico network its you

I'm curious how many who want to go into the Ukraine could point it out on a map before all this started ? Lol

DUHHHH, yes, we need to make the middle east even more important. That's the ticket. GREAT idea. It's worked so well, give us more of that.

I could only because I flew a couple individuals there from a camp in Cuba about two years ago. Don't think it end very good for those two guys.

WH - I fail to see where we disagree. I acknowledge that Ukraine is strategic to Russian interests. We get oil from Canada but that's not a reason to invade them. IMO invading Ukraine makes it less stable.

Looks like were getting it right now, just a little bit to the North. Do we really want Russia to have open controll to the European oil market and the financial well being of all the nations that would fall into the contol of their oil prices. Our own economy know what that feels like all to well.

The wussification of the US continues. Obama's words mean nothing to the world and haven't for about 4 yrs. amazing how many people don't get that our strength is what has allowed us to be free and prosperous and is the predominant reason why we have not had another world war. Those of you voting for Utopia at election time are going to be living with a bunch of regret one of these days. I pray we survive the worst leader in my lifetime. This feels worse than it did in 1979! Academia has a lot to do with where we are right now, too many sheep in America at this point in history!

Russian gas exports to Europe account for 80% of their gas exports, while 40% of Europe's gas imports come from Russia. Pretty important to both sides, but Russia may have more to lose here hench the importance of controlling the pipelines.

The 1 billion dollars to Ukraine comes from my and your pockets by way of the Federal Reserve to the IMF to Ukraine.

Where'd you see the 90% Russian stat?
I was relying off of memory...which is incorrect after going back and looking it up. The correct number is around 60% depending on what source. Of course the individual cities vary... My point was that this is not new territory for the Russians, they have a significant stake there, and there is more to this than the Russians simply invading a sovereign nation.

From what I hear Hillary has balls, that is why Billy went l@@king for girls. Now as far as balls to do something manly....no way! As far as Republicans the man who will be your next President will come from FL. Wait and see.....

Da Biz, I don't believe we should invade them either or get in any conflicts that aren't directly related to our Sovereignty.

I was just responding to the importance of Ukraine to the Russians.

No. People that dont know how to ask questions and discover facts for themselves are the issue. Go ahead and thank academia for producing at least a few that know how to say "explain" and then go fact check what they were told.

Feel free to create more generalizations. Thats all people like you have to offer the world anyway.

Regardless what people say, it doesn't matter who the president is they aren't going to war with Russia, period. Furthermore the whole idea of protecting the borders of an independant state etc is a bit hypocritical coming from the head of our government regardless if they are on your "team" or not. The idea that "balls" has anything to do with it shows how watered down and diluted our grasp/view of world affairs has become. We simply have lost the plot and to even have intelligent discussions regarding major issues facing our nation is nearly impossible. It's just a bunch of "Rah Rah, my team is better than your team", as opposed to any sort of serious thought about the direction of the country in general. Read through this thread and this much should be obvious.

It's pitiful that here we are in 2014 and this is what you're coming with. So your wife who works for the government (which is amusingly ironic), feels that the people who come through her office are uneducated freeloaders who only vote Democrat? This is your story huh? So is that to imply that if Romney were elected there would be no food stamps? Is this what you believe...serious question?

I think he's saying that people on the receiving end tend to vote for those that espouse liberal "share the wealth" ideology.

I am not being hypocritical. I see it for what it is. Pure bs by both. It never fails to amaze me that if someone doesn't jump all over an Obama bash fest they are in love with him despite facts being what they are. And BHF calling someone a hypocrite is funny.

Lol I yearn for the day Obama is not POTUS but yet I am a liberal because I don't ignore facts. Sounds about right.
