This...more of this

How many voted for him based on the color of his skin, instead of his political ideals. The same guy that studied Louis Farrakhans ideals through his pastor. Obama created this whole new race war when he began his hope and change. No wonder Michelle was finally happy to be an American. She knew the socialist seed had been planted. CRT is just a continuation of the Obama agenda.

As far as the video. I'm sorry you were sad to see an American happy to be an American.

I've seen many racist type like you, deep down you don't like white people, so much so that you refuse to look a white guy in the eyes. You tend to look through them instead. Probably have your one token white friend.

Its a shame you let the racism eat you alive like that. Hope some day you'll let it go and accept people for their character and not their skin color.
Read the study I posted. Save your misinformation for someone less informed. As easy as you've made it for me to call you a racist I have refrained so you can save that bs too. What I offered you in support of my opinion is a 41pg research study that was peer reviewed by the scholars at Harvard University. You offer anecdotal evidence and petty insults.

Please expand my knowledge as to specifically what President Obama did policy wise or otherwise to create this whole new race war? You indicate when he began his "hope and change" that is vague and I truly don't know what you are referencing.

In addition, please expound upon "No wonder Michelle was finally happy to be an American...she knew the socialist seed had been planted." Just trying to educate myself on a view point that I am not familiar with. Please provide me some specifics on what you are indicating...thanks.

You speak of over generalization and then label an entire side Marxists and socialists.

This thread is a microcosm of why racism won’t end. @mtsuhog85 makes a post about an AMERICAN being happy representing her country. Then @minnesotahog post “This will end racism”. Then @MR_ARKANSAS insinuates @mtsuhog85 only posted because Tamyra Mensah-Stock was African American.

Can we not be happy for a person who just won a gold medal and was so ecstatic she couldn’t contain herself and without being prompted said she was so proud to represent her country? IMO, it had nothing to do with her being a woman or AA… just simply being AMERICAN.

Until ALL ethnicities begin to see an American as an American no matter what ethnicity or race, we will continue in this death spiral.

I’m not insinuating that we forget our past and the atrocities that happened to certain ethnic groups.

And I’m not saying racism is not alive and well. I’m Chinese with bi-racial children. My wife’s grandfather hated me because of my ethnicity. I grew up in Arkansas and was called a gook, a chink, and chinaman, a jap, and every other Asian slur you can imagine. I’m now worried about my mother when she goes on her walks because she’s in the age group of the Asian hate at the moment. I just had an acquaintance who’s Uncle was beaten and was put in ICU while taking his daily walk which can only be explained by Asian hate crime.

But in my opinion, trying to end racism is like trying to have zero cases of COVID. It’s never gonna happen. I don’t believe the majority is racist. I believe there is a minority of stupid, uneducated, dumb asses in every ethnicity that is racist. We can‘t sweep it under the rug, but in order to move forward you can’t let the past inhibit moving forward. Every time someone makes a comment, it can’t be turned into wokeism!

I, for one, I’m very proud to be an American. Is it perfect? Hell no. But there’s no other country I’d rather be and raise my family. I was given the opportunity to make my way in life and overcome the shit and ignorance I saw and experienced growing up.

Some solid points here but I wasn't insinuating in my original post. I made a pretty emphatic statement. I wasn't hinting or indirectly suggesting anything.

without being prompted said she was so proud to represent her country?
Not to nitpick or anything, but this was literally what she was asked before making those comments:

"Last question for you. That American flag around your shoulders looks pretty good. How does that feel to represent your country like this?"

Some good points but the beginning premise of your post I wholeheartedly disagree with...

@mtsuhog85 original post was titled "This...more of this" I can not say what was in his heart when he made the post so I will address facts what I know. The question at hand is was he

1-celebrating an American winning a gold medal and addressing the love of the United States or

2-An African American being an example of how he feels Black American Athletes should behave in celebrating the United States.

3-If the premise of the post was celebrating an American celebrating why later on in the post did @mtsuhog85 specifically state: Maybe the black community can rally behind her and think for a second, "hey this place is a pretty freaking good place to live. Even with its flaws. (He did not say why do not Americans he specifically stated Black Community)

4-I posted and made the statement If it is not about race why just single out the black community? Why not anyone of any community regardless of ethnicity? This guy is not a member of the black community...IJS. (I posted a picture of a white man kneeling but they are other more prominent non-blacks who protest the flag i.e. USW Soccer & WNBA Players who represent USW Basketball)

5-His response was: Looks like Kaepernick to me. All I see is a man kneeling.

He further goes on to make negative statements about President Obama & Michelle Obama. Now based on what he wrote not my conjecture, assumption or anything else his issue is not just with what he considers an Anti-American Stance it is specifically geared toward Blacks who have what he considers an Anti-American stance and the example he provided as to how Blacks should show their appreciation, act, behave and who Blacks should support and rally behind is a Black American who is praising the United States.

If a person stance is so Pro-American why is it that the sentiment that is spewed against so called "anti-American" behavior is addressed to Black Americans only, when there are other people of other communities who express similar views and behaviors?

So am I going to state he is a racist...I cannot do that...because I do not know the man beyond corresponding on this message board...so I feel it would be totally irresponsible and unfair of me to label him with such an accusation.

He is saying that when you are dealt a bad hand, no matter what it is - health issues to inequalities to bad luck even- if you dont rise above it you will get beat by it. Everyone can succeed in this country. Some have a longer harder road than others. But dwelling on and surrendering to the disadvantages does ypu no good. Whether yor blind, have cancer, borned with a handicap or your skin is a different color. If You feel you have a harder you must overcome.

Trust me i know with some things i have had to deal with. Your mentality is the biggest part if besting what is not fair in life.

So by acknowledging that, and to your point, why would we just accept that “some have a longer harder road” when we have the ability to change that? Not that you’re suggesting we wouldn’t, but generally speaking it’s not something we just have to accept. Not just in a racial context, but not excluding it either.

I understand your point to a certain extent with dwelling and surrendering to disadvantages. I have been mentoring for almost 3 decades and the Good Lord knows how many times I have told a person do not allow your environment to define you.

To gain what I refer to as street credibility I tell them about myself, I tell them that at the age of 6 my father murdered his girlfriend who happened to be our 18 year old babysitter. Resulting in us living in the housing projects (Fort Lookout in Camden) thus beginning a difficult upbringing.

What I also tell my white colleagues that is important for them to understand is from the perspective of black folks is:

You are basically trying to equate a white person and a black person both being told to run a 10 mile race.

The white person is given Nike sneakers, shorts, t-shirt, water, and all the best essentials for running a 10 mile race.

Now the black person is given a 75 pound backpack, cowboy boots, no water, a sweater, and a 50 pound iron ball chained to their ankle.

Then after the white person completes 8 1/2 miles of the race and the black person has completed about 1 1/2 miles the black person is given the same accommodations as the white person.

The white person looks at it like what's the problem we have the same thing we are now equal.

While the black person says for the first 8 1/2 miles we were not equal and now I have so much distance to catch up.

Thanks for posting concrete numbers for discussion purposes. The only way to really get to solutions for any problem is to move beyond the emotions and analyze hard data and the reasons behind it.

Prison Population

Isn't it possible that this has to do more with the fact that Black Americans are more likely to live in poverty than whites? That doesn't disprove any theories of race being a factor, but it doesn't prove a racial bias in the prison system itself. Poor whites receive similar treatment to poor Blacks from the police...profiling, more violent treatment, etc.

Drug Offenses

How many of those drug offenses are possession related versus "intent to deliver"? Lumping all drug charges in together can cloud the issue. Note that I'm not disputing that a Black man is more likely to be incarcerated over simple possession than a white one. Again it likely gets back to economics as much as anything...fewer job opportunities means more Black men choose to risk incarceration by dealing drugs. Are there really that many people, regardless of race, who are in jail for simple possession charges? I've known a few people who have done time for this (some white, a few Black), and while their main problem was addiction they only ended up in jail after numerous offenses (think five or more) with large amounts of drugs. The idea of the casual weed smoker who gets busted with a dime bag for a first offense and ends up in prison is a myth, best I can tell.

Salary/Wages

Personally I would've led with this one, because it's the root cause of all the other issues in my opinion. How do we correct this, in your opinion? To me it seems like fixing educational disparities is the key, but I don't see a simple answer for how to do that either.

Police Interactions

Once again, poorer people commit more crimes, and end up with more police interactions. More encounters with police equals more chances for something to go wrong. Figure out a way to get minorities into better legitimate economic situations, and much of this problem will go away.
Below is the initial Ishikawa Diagram for the 4 Racial Disparity Issues I brought up that you responded to that I said that I would like to continue a dialog about. I will establish an Ishikawa diagram for each of the four topics and post those also.

Since this is such an enormous topic/undertaking for subject errors is more than enough. Using the philosophy "The easiest way to eat an elephant is a bite at a time." Serious input from any and all is more than welcome

Don’t have much to add but I just had to do a fish bone as the lawyers needed a root cause analysis for a reporting violation. A lot of feeling were hurt, haha.

However, I’ve absolutely noticed a growing number of people, on both sides, who are trying very hard for people to not like one another. They’ve tapped a new voting trend: envy/hatred/fear.

These numbers can’t be a coincidence:

Happens to coincide with a certain president.

Would have to really have to look at the statistical subsets to really get more out of it beyond some of the initial rudimentary analysis listed on the below image and what @jdr0269 indicated in his initial post.

Politics, homie. Literally every based race stat you can imagine points to things getting better, but people all of a sudden hate one another.

Do you feel like this analogy still works for young black people today? I know it did for when you were growing up.

I feel like the starting line these days depends more on socioeconomics than race. I have friends from every background and upbringing. The ones with the most in common grew up in the same neighborhoods or parental situations.

I don’t even have to bring up the “justice system.

You’re right about one thing cause black men do have a chip, but it’s against other black men. It’s the White man that teach their ethnicity to have a chip against everybody that ain’t white. I do commend y’all for that cause u do stick together. Something to try to teach us to do, minus the hate
I see nothing about Indians.
