Football Arkansas to pay less for Arkansas State game, other agreement details

Finally got my hands on the Arkansas-Arkansas State game contract - the uncensored version from ASU - and broke it down like only I can...

Perfect example of why NIL stuff NEEDS to happen...

Hunter Woodhall, the sprinter at Arkansas with two prosthetic legs, has turned pro ahead of next month's NCAA Indoor championships (and of course the outdoor season). The reason is pretty much all on the NCAA's archaic rules.

He has built up 3 million followers on social media, which = A LOT of money. He said he was doing some stuff last summer, after the season was canceled and with the status of this year's season still up in the air, that was completely unrelated to track, but the NCAA was still like, 'Nope. Impermissible benefits.'

On top of that, he used the time off during quarantine to create a clothing company with a couple of his buddies, using his (soon to be) marketing major and communications minor. You know, putting into practice the "student" part of "student-athlete." I believe his company is called "Giant Hoodies" if you want to look it up. Well, it really took off. They were featured in Oprah's "Favorite Things of 2020" and they'll be on Good Morning America next week. They've sold more than 100,000 hoodies. So naturally, the NCAA is like "NOPE!"

Woodhall said that he was originally going to run with Arkansas through the NCAA Indoor Championships and try to win a title in the 4x400, but the hoops the NCAA wanted him to jump through just wasn't worth it. Now he's weighing three different shoe companies to sign with ahead of the Tokyo Olympics this summer, as I'm sure he'll compete in the Paralympics. He begins his pro career tomorrow, running in the American Track League 3 meet here in Fayetteville.

I wasn't on this Zoom, but here's the video from Pig Trail Nation...

Baseball Arkansas scrimmage updates - Feb. 5, 2020 (includes takeaways, box score)

Greetings from Baum-Walker Stadium. It's chilly again, but I layered up more than last week and I'm settled in to watch today's scrimmage. I have to leave by 4:30 to pick up my daughter from daycare, but I'll have updates from the first couple of hours.

I'm told it's Zebulon Vermillion vs. Peyton Pallette today. Pallette started for one of the teams last week, too. Wicklander was the other starter last Friday, so Vermillion is getting a look today. (They also scrimmage on Saturday and Sunday, I'm pretty sure, but those days aren't open to the media.)

Football Ledbetter joins list of former Hogs in the Super Bowl

Really disappointed in myself for missing the news about Ledbetter getting promoted from the practice squad in Week 13 and not including him in my weekly Pro Hogs updates. But I made up for it with my annual update to the "Former Hogs in the Super Bowl" list...

(Ledbetter isn't the only Arkansas tie to this year's Super Bowl.)

The Lady Razorbacks play Tx A&M at 2 PM on the SEC Network

The LadyBacks are hotter than ever, we're bringing along new blood and you have to see it to really appreciate it.
I look for the Lady Backs to pull off a win BUT A&M's Coach used to be Arkansas' Coach so he HATES to lose, especially to us. He's a great friend to our team and has been since he left years ago...

Alright Oaklawn Peeps, Let’s Do This *LIVE RESULT UPDATES*

I went into this weekend completely unprepared and it showed. Imma challenge my Bert peeps. Let’s get on it early this week. I’ve already run through Thursday’s card. Plan on taking on Friday’s tomorrow. Let’s collectively dive into this weekend’s cards early so we can collectively cash some tix this weekend!!! I am classically a “day of” guy but I think we’ll collectively do better if we do some advanced scouting. Who’s with me? I’ll post my Thursday thoughts when I get back to the office in the morning. @BilboHawg @SpudM70 and others, looking at y’all!

Worst Recruiting Class In Arkansas History

Is the 2017 class the worst recruiting class in Arkansas history. With nearly half of the class already gone, and probably more to come. Is it the result of a change in coaching staff or was it just a horrible class. Chase Hayden, Kam Curl, Jarques McClellion, and Dalton Wagner are probably the best of the class. It is still early to tell but, this could be the least productive class ever.

That Good True PG??

When was the last team we had a true PG that was legit?

Fortson?
PBev?

Barford, Macon, Beard, Sils, Notae, Young, and I can keep going. These are all undersized off guards that were forced in some situations into the 1 spot.

Tate has moments, but he is just careless with the ball and has very loose dribbling mixed with odd sequences where he will have more TOs than positive plays vs good competition

Devo seems to be the next guy in that conversation of forced off guards into the PG spot.Ultimately you would love KK to be the that guy next season and maybe a grad transfer?

Also Irvin, Ferguson, Jefferson, Harris etc don’t count as “good”. They were serviceable.

Just seems like every season for a while now we are a PG away or a true good 4/5 man away from being a Top25 team. Think of Gafford and Portis years if they had a blue chip PG to roll with.

Just my random Friday morning thought of the day!

Arkansas-centric look at college football's obscene buyout situation

Hunter Yuracheck tried his best, but the forces at play here are just too strong. There have been few, if any, performance-based termination buyout clauses since Pittman's contract.

Includes ranking of SEC schools by total agreed upon buyout amounts:
