Don’t ban me, is there a good loss in SEC tournament?

Disclaimers
1. I’m not talking about losing last 2 games to SC or AM, those would be bad
2. I’m not talking losing to a bad team in SEC tournament
3. I do not want to lose another game in any sport ever

But I’ve always believed the loss to UK, while I hated it, in the SEC tournament for hogs ‘94 national champs team got them humbled, refocused, and ready for ncaa run with an unbelievable new drive because they had been on such a long win streak

Now this team under Muss, even though they are on a win streak doesn’t appear to need refocus or drive as of now, we’ll see how focused they look verses AM and SC.
It does appear they need some rest and remain injury free

Win last 2 regular season and lose to AL, MO, FL, or TN in a tough hard fought game, even though we wouldn’t want to, may not be a bad thing at the end of the SEC Tournament to be ready for the NCAA.

Again, don’t ban me, just thinking out loud, no I don’t want to lose, but I’d rather lose at end of SEC tournament than in the NCAA tournament because I believe hogs can make a deep deep run

Antonio Daye, jr.

The FIU transfer has been in contact with the Arkansas staff. 6’1” 180 and can score the ball really, really well. Averaging 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists per game this year. 45.5% from the field, 29.9% from 3, and 69.8% from the line.

I added him to the transfer thread, but got some quotes from him so he gets his own thread, too. He could be a take. I know there’s a good amount of reciprocal interest and Daye can really play. Another good defensive guard but is also great off the bounce and loves to get going downhill. Elite finishing ability. Would be a nice insurance policy in case KK/JD isn’t ready to step up to the plate to start at PG right off the bat next year or if there’s some other roster movement. As of right now, seems like it’ll be between Arkansas and NC State (he’s from North Carolina) but gotta believe if the staff actually wants him bad enough he’ll be here next year.

On staff talking about his game and how he would fit:
“They love how I play and they think I could help the program next year! Just a guy who can create shots for myself and also others and who can defend.”

The strongest part of his game:
“I think the strongest part of my game is the get in the lane at will and create for myself and others. Also the ability to defend.”

What he’s looking for in a program:
“A place where I can impact right away and feel at home for the next two years and give me a chance to reach my goal which is to ultimately be a pro!”

The pro experience on staff:
“Definitely! The NBA culture they have over there is huge and a great thing to see considering that’s my end goal and where I want to be and think I belong one day.”

Basketball team

I know we started rough, but honestly I think this team had it in them the whole time! I think we just needed to gel, and a few guys to buy in to what their job is. Like notae, when he first started he was all about one thing and that was him driving and scoring. And it hurt us a lot. I’m proud of him because he’s bought in and he actually dishes it now. The last couple games I’ve seen him drive and pass out to an open shooter a lot! Obviously Devo was a surprise but early in the season he didn’t have the confidence to try to score. He just played defense, so I think his confidence with the ball in his hand has helped us a lot! I also think Williams confidence with the ball in his hands has come a long way! I don’t know how many times I screamed at him to shoot early season. Because I know he has a good shot. They have both gained a lot of needed confidence. I also think moodys killer instinct has grown more! At first he didn’t really attack and take over the game. But I think he’s realized he’s the man and he can score at will. Even the guys who’s minutes have went way down. Like sills, vanover Jackson. Normally you see those types of guys who lose minutes sulking on the sideline. But every time it pans over those dudes are up cheering going crazy for the other dudes. That’s what you need in a team to make a run! And I think we have the talent and everyone is bought in enough to make a deep run! And don’t get me started on Justin smith! That dude is playing out of his mind! He’s the glue for sure! And then you’ve got papa Tate! He’s bought in and does whatever he needs to do to win the game! You need him to carry us and score 20 he can! You need him to be an assist machine all game he can! You need him to lock down the other teams best player.... dude can! This team has grown up before our eyes! Let’s go!
