FB Recruiting New FutureCast Pick in

And no it's not for Dax like Sam's, I had already futurecasted him to Arkansas anyways.
This one's for 6-foot-4, 290-pound guard Eli Henderson from South Carolina. Pittman was the first to offer him when he was still at Georgia and he reoffered soon after he got to Arkansas on Dec. 19.
Pittman's evaluation was confirmed six months later when Henderson finally picked up another offer from Arizona State. He hasn't played much center yet but he'll be his team's center this season. They went 11-2 last year

Hoops Corey Evans on Arkansas's 2020 tourney hopes

From today's twitter Tuesday:
This is not the best season to rely on a boatload of newcomers due to increased uncertainty and reduced preseason workouts because of the coronavirus pandemic. This may not favor Arkansas after the Hawgs brought in such a big recruiting class along with a bevy of transfers. However, the return of Isaiah Joe sure does help, and so does the talent base that Arkansas will have.

I see there being a top tier in the SEC of Florida, Kentucky, LSU and Tennessee. However, there is definitely a chance that a team like Alabama or Arkansas slips into the upper-crest of the league and receives the double-bye for the SEC Tournament. There is no doubt that if the pieces fall right, that Arkansas is a second weekend NCAA Tournament squad thanks to the shot-makers and versatility it possesses, which would be difficult to game plan against in a 48-hour window.

As far as how the starting lineup will look, I am not sure that Eric Musselman knows what it is going to be. For now, you have to assume that Moses Moody and Isaiah Joe will be starting at the wing positions; KK Robinson will likely complete Arkansas's backcourt at the one. Then comes the tricky part. I love Jaylin Williams and while Connor Vanover brings a mismatch option at the five, will Musselman go the small-ball route and load up with a five-out mix by starting Vance Jackson and Jalen Tate or Justin Smith?

Those are good problems to have, but either way, expect for the pace of play to be among the quickest in the sport so that the Hawgs can use its quality depth.

Give me your position moves of camp

Give me ONE big time position change of camp. And maybe another if you have one.

I’ll go with...Nick Fulwider to Offensive Tackle. Boom. I mean he’s 6’7 290plus and athletic. And his coach is Sammy P. Idk if he ever contributes much on the d line. I could see that being worth a look.

Minor change...Joe Foucha to SS or Nickel. Get that guy away from FS, closer to the line of scrimmage where he can use a little of that physicality that he has, and the guy could make an impact for sure. He’s just not even remotely a FS and never has been. I could imagine a Jericho Nelsonish type impact. Which would be great. But we all know how dumb Chad is/was...

anyways, what ya got?

OKlahoma Recruiting Success Through The Ages

Saw this from Jacob Davis (used to have a profile here I think but can’t remember his name) and thought it was interesting:

“Arkansas’ new staff has really done a good job recruiting neighboring state Oklahoma. There is currently six commitments from the Sooner State. How has that compared to recent staffs dating back to 1999?

Pittman 2020-2021: 7 (1 transfer)
Morris 2018-2019: 4
Bielema 2013-2017: 6
Petrino 2008-2012: 14 (5 in 2010 class)
Nutt 1998-2007: 7”

Here is my question. Who was the last stand out player from Oklahoma that we signed and played for us? Kam was decent. Keon was decent as well. I can’t think of a single other Oklahoma kid that came in and made an impact for us (besides Felix, who was 17 years ago)

Off the top of my head I can think of Terrell Williams, Eric Bennett, Jarrett Lake, Cantrell as guys that played for us and were from Oklahoma.

Pumped

For the first time in over 20 years,I can honestly say that I'm excited about basketball season. This roster could be the deepest since the glory days of 94 and 95,and we have a coach who can get us on a deep tourney run. I realize that the SEC will be a lot tougher this year, but I harken back to the days of Denny Crum coaching at Louisville. He would always play 4-6 tough non-conference games and didn't care about how many losses he had going into the tournament, because he knew his Cardinals were ready for anything. I think he won 2 NCAA championships.
As far as football,I'm cautiously optimistic, not about our final record, but the improvement in how I think we will play. I drank entirely too much koolade when Bielema was the coach and the horror movie that we endured the last 2 years set us back even more. The best thing about Morris is that he is in our rear view mirror. I wish nothing but ill will for that Gus lover!
It's fun to be relevant in basketball again. Let's enjoy the ride.
