Arkansas Mens Basketball

Before the SEC season started i would have told you that the League just wasn't going to be that good. Bama didn't impress me much at all. They sure as hell do now. The are rolling LSU at LSU right now. 48-22 with 6 and change in the first half.

I am all aboard the Muss Train. The last week hasn't changed that. I'm not really sure what's going on but i think he will get it fixed. Last year i mentioned some of his temper tantrums on TOS and got rolled for it as an MA lover that hates Muss. LOL. Not at all. I love Muss, I love his passion for the game. I love his attention to detail. I love the way he uses Social Media and i love the way he recruits. He had a great game plan for UTjr. I am not sure when we took our first three that game but everyone had bought in and shot selection was phenomenal. Fast forward to UGA and we were straight balling then back to back rapes at the hands of LSU and Bama. Shot selection is poor again, spacing is pathetic. Defense is atrocious and confidence is very low.

I know Muss isn't sleeping very well right now. Probably in the pool house. It's eating him alive and that's why i am not too worried.

We've seen a ton of different lineups, he's tried just about everything. Good news is the schedule sets up nicely for us the rest of the way. We have five big games left that i would love to go 4-1 in. We get Bama, Florida and LSU at home, Okie Light on the road and UK @ UK. That game is winnable of we get back to spacing the floor and taking threes. If we keep going with the dribble drive in the lane vs. UK, They will swat most of our $hit into the cheap seats. We've passed on open threes in the last couple of games and that indicates, at least to me, there is a confidence issue, or a fear of missing them.

Muss promotes our program like no other has ever done. We are mentioned with every transfer and a great percentage of HS kids. Recruiting won't be a problem going forward and coaching shouldn't be. I love his intensity and he will not back down from his plan. Even though i'd love to see him zone some, i know he's not going to.

It's obvious he loves Notae. He's this years Mase. Muss wants the ball in his hands at the end of the game, end of the half. I'd like to see him play off the ball more and pop from the corners. I am of the opinion that Muss' biggest challenge this year has been getting everyone to buy in on defense. We see it for a game then it's gone again. That is what was so special about last years team, they bought in on Defense. With our length this year, it should be an advantage for us and thus far, it hasn't been.

Wish we could get BeyBey back or the Johnson kid eligible. CV and Jackson just aren't adequate in the paint. Get one of those guys eligible to play down low with Justin Smith and then you can get Connor and Vance out on the Wing doing what they do.

I'd like to see Tate and Devo running the offense in the half court, with hard screens to free up Moses, Desi, Notae and Connor or Vance. I think JWill is an above average passer and we can run the offense through him in the high post, he's ready.

Just some thoughts, it's been awhile since i've been here so i won't take up the boards time every game or every day. Just wanted to post some thoughts out there and get some feedback.

Tomorrow night starts a five game win streak. WPS

UFC Fight.....Morning?!?

I don't think I've ever been a MMA/Boxing/UFC fan, but this shit has been mesmerizing so far. Grabbed my coffee, grabbed my computer, turned on ESPN like I do most mornings while I'm answering emails and instead of Get Up it was UFC.

Ton of strategy and the commentators have been really fun to listen to as well to try and learn a bit while watching.

Was last year's roster better than this year's?

2019-2020:
Bailey
Mase
Joe
Sills
Whitt

Ethan
Chaney
Cylla

2020-2021:
Williams
Smith
Moody
Devo
Tate

Sills
Vance
Notae

I think it's clear Mase and Whitt are better than Tate and either Devo or whomever occupies that spot. Joe and Moody are probably incomparable because they have different skillsets and things they bring to the table. Desi isn't playing as well in conference so far as he did last year. Bailey is a better defender than any big this year except Smith. Vance is better than Cylla and Williams is better than Chaney. Ethan still a non-factor. Notae a plus. CV hasn't done much but isn't necessarily comparable to anyone, but Bailey played the five better.

So head to head last year had: Bailey, Mase, Whitt, and Sills as better than their counterparts. Vance, Smith, and Williams are better than their counterparts with Notae being a plus-one.

Completely different makeup and dynamic but interesting to think about how last year actually could have had a better roster, or at the very least was much more top-heavy.

FB Recruiting QB, RHP, both? Ledbetter still pondering 2-sport future

I caught up with Bryant's Austin Ledbetter the other day to discuss his plans for college... He's signed to play baseball, but hasn't ruled out playing football, too.

Hoops PREVIEW: Hogs welcome 'completely different' Auburn team to BWA

Some good stuff in here on Sharife Cooper, which obviously makes Auburn a completely different team than the one Arkansas beat three weeks ago...
