Well, I thought I wouldn't have much new to update since I only wrote the last big board notebook on the 16th but Arkansas has gained two more commitments since.
ICYMI:
DT Solomon Wright (I'm talking to his former NFL-LBer pops in a few min)
TE Erin Outley
Besides a subscriber bringing up Wright a long time ago, Wright really wasn't on the radar. That's typically how it goes when a prospect is committed to another program and never reports an offer. Sometimes they let it slip that another school is recruiting hard, but not the case in this situation. I like the pickup, i hope it has little to no impact on Cameron Ball's decision because I think Ball is going to be more ready-to-play. Wright doesn't have a lot of big time offers but his list is better than a lot of the signees over the past 5 years and hey, Missouri wanted him too.
There was pretty much certainty that Outley was going to pick Arkansas in the weeks leading up to his decision. It really turned up after FSU took another TE and I think he just wanted to get it over with and join the guys since he was planning to anyways.
While a couple WRs came off the board last week, Arkansas had good news from 4-star Jayden Thomas out of Georgia. He said the staff is on him hard and talking to him about playing both sports but I'm still working on getting info to see just how interested DVH is in him. He'd be a football scholarship regardless but it would be nice to hear that they're actively recruiting him alongside Jimmy Smith, Stepp and the gang. Priority is still on KeTron Jackson but I posted elsewhere I think they'd take both if given the option, though I'm not sure Arkansas will beat out Thomas's other
top choices. Thomas hasn't visited yet though I'm sure they've put him through all the virtual stuff already.
If i had to, I'd guess Jackson and Thomas are two guys who are up next for decisions but looking across the board, I can't see many others ready to pop.
Out of the 103 Arkansas offers left undecided, only 38 of them are ranked 4-stars. If Arkansas was to hit on 10%, they'd get 3-4 4-stars to finish the class. The guys already committed are going to need some help from the analysts but ones I could see rising to 4-stars are AJ Green, Raheim Sanders, Cole Carson and Terry Wells. I know Outley has a low 4-star offer list but I think his speed could hold him back from a higher ranking.
