Football Dan Mullen comment about the transfer portal

This is something I’ve believed for a couple of years now, so it’s encouraging to see a guy like Dan Mullen come out and say it.

From our Florida site:

“If you look last year, there were more people in the transfer portal than there were scholarships available, and that’s not including our incoming freshmen that we already signed. So these guys are going into the portal and it’s actually hurting a lot of people. Is there a way to count numbers, as far as recruiting restrictions, different for transfers? A 1-for-1. If I have a guy leave Florida and go in the transfer portal, I can sign a guy out of the transfer portal. Scholarships are all equal. Opportunities are met for different opportunities for kids that are out there. Instead of, we signed 25 in this year’s recruiting class and we don’t have any spots available. We had three kids leave for the transfer portal, but we can’t replace them because I’ve already filled my signee number for the year. So I think there’s some balance of things that we’re going to have to get to moving forward into the future.”

OT Texting/calling Canada

So it looks like my phone plan includes unlimited texting/calling to Canada, but do I have to do anything differently than a normal text/call? I googled it and it says to include “011” at the beginning, but it looks like a normal 10-digit number and the area code is specific to Canada. Any of y’all have experience with this? Thanks!

Hoops Reddit: Top 20 programs of the last 50 seasons (1971-2020)

Saw this on Reddit and thought I’d share here... A guy on there has been making a bunch of charts and just did one for the top 20 programs of the last 50 seasons. It’s based on overall record with bonuses for tourney appearances and going deep in the tourney. This time frame encompasses the entire Eddie Sutton and Nolan Richardson eras. Despite struggles in the post-Nolan era, Arkansas is still 17th on this post.

2. Kentucky

OT Two Knees..... (NFL owners )

From Sally Jenkins, Washington Post:

“Two knees. One protesting in the grass, one pressing on the back of a man’s neck. Choose. You have to choose which knee you will defend. There are no half choices; there is no room for indifference. There is only the knee of protest or the knee on the neck.

NFL owners chose the knee on the neck. They did. They may rationalize it as controversy avoidance or respect for the flag or audience mollification or economic strategy or business exigency. But when they collectively ostracized Colin Kaepernick for his protests against police brutality on unarmed black citizens, they chose the wrong knee. They chose the knee on the neck, the knee that pressures, stifles, gags, chokes and silences.“

I retrospect, I can see she has nailed it. I WAS torn on hw to handle CK. I’m not any longer, Sally Jenkins has nailed it in my opinion.

Agree or disagree, it is a thought provoking look from a sports and societal perspective.
