OT 100% NOT the Official Off-Topic/Politics/Corona Thread

I promise(not really) that this will be the last link I post today.

https://lawandcrime.com/george-floy...ts-a-war-crime/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Arkansas shithead Tom Cotton stated he would use "no quarter" on American citizens. It's explained in the article, but from what I've read online, "no quarter" is essentially this(taken from a comment on Reddit)

"Since no one has mentioned it here yet or maybe people don't know, the concept of "no quarter" was used by militaries, privateers, or mercenaries to mean that no prisoners would be taken after a conflict. In essence, it's "take no prisoners" or more on the nose, killing everyone.

The senator from the state of Arkansas - where the 101st Airborne was called it to stop white supremacists from harming young black children who had the nerve to want to attend a school with the rest of the residents of their town in Little Rock - just stated he wants the military to patrol the streets and kill people he doesn't like."

I’m sure he worded it “kill the people I don’t like.”

Sounds communist to me.

you take things too literal dicktales

Angry Dragon

Honestly I thought @Dormac was less of a degenerate than that. Now he's starting to grow on me.
There was a video that went around the Internet in the early 2000’s of three US soldiers explaining all there moves to a foreign military man who I assume was there guide or something and it was the funniest shit. I’ve spent hours trying to find it before and was unsuccessful. I wish I could find it because y’all would find it really funny. It was the first time I had heard of the dirty sanchez or angry dragon.

Maybe, but maybe our politicians shouldn't say such stupid and extreme things.

Do you know who said this?
"Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere"

What has Trump said that has you so upset? "Drink Bleach"

What's your point? Maxine Waters was trying to make a statement about the administration putting children in cages... Tom Cotton was making blanket statements about killing Americans(whether he meant it literally or not doesn't matter in this context).

Not really two comparable scenarios. Making a scene vs killing Americans... hmm, let's see which is worse.

Why does it matter anyway? That's totally irrelevant to the conversation.

My point is you get emotional with everything Trump (Republicans) say - Couple pages back you got upset because he told the Weak Azz Governors to grow a pair & control their large cities to stop this sh!t. You seemed like you didn't like him calling them out...he was being to mean to them:)

Definitely not getting emotional, I'm just pointing out when these guys making really stupid statements.

Who thinks it's smart to come out and say you want to use a tactic that's considered a war crime to deal with protestors? Whether you're being literal or not doesn't matter, it's not what good leaders do. I've posted before I've met Cotton at least 6-7 times in his office in DC so I don't like the guy anyway, this just furthers that point.

Well President Trump just said the governors and mayors better make it stop immediately or he will. Let’s hope the riots are over.

Protesters my azz - have you been paying attention? He was talking about the Thugs, Thieves, Arsonists, etc...protest all you want. How are 60 Secret Service Agents injured and not a single Thug that are throwing bricks, starting fires, etc? WTH is going on....

So you're saying protestors... or really, just call them looters or arsonists, i'm fine with that... are throwing bricks and setting things on fire, and you believe killing them is the correct response?

They need to take their asses home if they aren't going to peacefully protest, but threatening to kill them or sic the "Vicious Dogs' and 'Ominous Weapons'" on them isn't what a leader of the Free World should be doing.

He should either try to empathize and help fix the problem, or keep his mouth shut. Antagonizing the people of the country you're supposed to be leading isn't what a US President is supposed to do.

Dude - I nor anybody has never believed or said Killing the thugs, thieves, arsonist should be the response...You just keep making sh!t up.

I missed the Rose Garden statement. How did that go?

I look forward to the various assessments.

No Duck, I think it is very relevant. All these posts about justice and fairness. We can not continue to adhere to one side and not the other as well. Do you really not see that? My point is that if we are going to debate, great! Debate ideas. I’ve spent a day and half hearing the same old tired drivel. Trump is this, he is that and whatever fits an agenda. Not really any proof but there should be. Americans are swayed by ideas. I’ve studied politics for over 50 years and I can not think of one time a campaign won on just negatives.

Louisville Police Chief just got fired for a shooting in which there was no body camera footage.

Can Trump order up the active duty military against Americans without congressional approval?

"The original provision was enacted as Section 15 of chapter 263, of the Acts of the 2nd session of the 45th Congress.

Sec. 15. From and after the passage of this act it shall not be lawful to employ any part of the Army of the United States, as a posse comitatus, or otherwise, for the purpose of executing the laws, except in such cases and under such circumstances as such employment of said force may be expressly authorized by the Constitution or by act of Congress; and no money appropriated by this act shall be used to pay any of the expenses incurred in the employment of any troops in violation of this section and any person willfully violating the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction thereof shall be punished by fine not exceeding ten thousand dollars or imprisonment not exceeding two years or by both such fine and imprisonment[9]

The text of the relevant legislation is as follows:

18 U.S.C. § 1385. Use of Army and Air Force as posse comitatus Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the Air Force as a posse comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

Also notable is the following provision within Title 10 of the United States Code (which concerns generally the organization and regulation of the armed forces and Department of Defense):

10 U.S.C. § 275. Restriction on direct participation by military personnel The Secretary of Defense shall prescribe such regulations as may be necessary to ensure that any activity (including the provision of any equipment or facility or the assignment or detail of any personnel) under this chapter does not include or permit direct participation by a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps in a search, seizure, arrest, or other similar activity unless participation in such activity by such member is otherwise authorized by law."

You think Trump cares about any of that? He says a million things before actually checking with anyone to see if it’s legal or not.

The fact that Trump wasn’t struck down by lightning while holding the Bible should cause a lot of pause for those that believe in God.

Do you actually believe everything you see on Twitter or research what you present as fact?

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/officer-jacob-pederson-protests/

Ya. Twitter isn’t the place for credibility. There have been a lot of other similar rumors though. We will have to see. It seems to me we have 3 factions of rioters. People who are legitimately angry and lashing out, opportunists that want to loot, and opportunists that want to perpetuate chaos.

None of that makes rioting and looting right. But it does appear to be a multilayered event with bad actors of different ideologies and purposes.

Watching a video of Trump saying he’s an “ally of peaceful protestors” as DC Police pepper spray and violently push protestors a block away so he can make an awkward photo shoot holding up a bible is hilarious.
