OT 100% NOT the Official Off-Topic/Politics/Corona Thread

The IgM antibodies will show up during the actual course of the illness, though IgG antibodies would not likely show up until the tail end of someone's contagious period, if not after (if at all). Most of the antibody tests are looking for IgG because IgM goes away pretty quickly.
So if someone takes the antibody test and tests positive, is there still a 14 day quarantine?

How do they test for Covid without an antibody test?

Fatalities going WAY down but let's continue to freak out about 5 deaths in a town of 3 million people shall we.

Because all 3million have been tested right? Let's see if that "trend" holds through the fall and winter when things open back up. Kids start going to school etc.

Not to make this political, but Trump announced yesterday he wants to abolish Obamacare. Doesn’t seem like a good time to kick people off healthcare.

ummmm you were talking about DEATHS, not positive cases. Try to stay on topic.

Yeah, should have done it when everyone was pissing themselves over this virus and the hospitals were empty

see, told ya

Dr. Marc Boom, of Houston Methodist, said those numbers don’t fully tell the capacity story.

“Just that number is being misinterpreted and, quite frankly, we’re concerned that there is a level of alarm in the community that is unwarranted right now,” Boom said.

For all those currently pissing themselves because the news agencies have seen a reduced interest for the Black Lives Matter telecast and have decided to pump fear porn again, I highly recommend this website for the full data set.

You'll notice that ventilator use is going down, hospitilization is going down/stablizing, and ICU capacity is about 30% what it was in early May.

Quick easy stat to validate. The seven day average for positive test per hospitilization April 26th was 11.9. Meaning, on the average day for the week, it took nearly 12 positive test to produce an individual who needed hospitilization. Today, the seven day rolling average is 33.0.

I'm not talking about testing...but positive tests. So is the disease getting weaker or are we just reaching the mass majority of individuals who get the disease but actually don't require hospitilization?

Regardless, those going, "THE SECOND WAVE!!" aren't rationally looking at the data...they're just seeing one number and convincing themself to go full on REE again.

Have a good one!

Is anyone here pissing themselves?

Hey hey hey, I haven't been to a bar since all this began. Way too depressing
These sob's down here have been packing them nightly. That's the reason for the increase in positive tests here and also explains why there hasn't been a proportionate increase in fatalities. Young 'uns get it but don't die. I say let 'em get it, quarantine them, and let's move on.
