Cam Newton

Most dominating CFB player I've ever seen and now the best player in NFL. Doing all of this with Olsen and a bunch of average WRs. Fun to watch.

He is the best player in the NFL, and I feel pretty certain that LB Keuchly is a close 2nd ... that team is physical and nasty on both sides of the ball. Feels like PM and Denver are about to run into another oncoming train in the SB.

J.J. Watt says hello.

Good point, maybe I shouldn't be so "certain" that Kuechly was 2nd-best after Cam, but I thought he should have gotten his 2nd DPOY, instead JJ got his 3rd ... both are perennial All Pros, combined they've owned the last 4 DPOY awards, but I thought Luke was a smidge better in 2015.

Jj Watt is awesome, but so is Keuchly. Hard to call one better than the other.

Cam is good, but he's got alot to learn about being a professional. That Denver D ain't playin around, but it seems like Carolina can score 30+ on anybody. Peyton better put together one hell of a game plan, that's for sure.

This may be the first time in his career PM isn't being counted on to "win" the game. The supporting players can win if he plays well. It should be a good SB.

OP didn't say best ever. Best in NFL was the quote and that's not inaccurate.

Really, you must have never seen Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Johnny Unitas or Dick Butkus.
No I'm not 70, so I didn't see any of them play college ball. Pretty sure Cam was better in college than those guys anyway.

Vince Young better season/career than Cam in college IMHO. Cam struggled in the champ game versus Oregon. VY had arguably the best game ever by a collegiate QB versus a better USC team, in the Coloseum.

What do you mean learn to be a professional? You think a QB can put a team on his back and lead them to the SB without already being a professional?

Cam played one full year as a starter, won the Heisman and a NT. In his only season. It took VY 4 years to do that. So, no.
It took VY 3yrs to do that, same as Cam. Both were juniors. Cam choked in that title game continually missing wide open receivers keeping Oregon alive until Mike Dyer bailed him out late with a fluke run via his knees not touching the ground. Young threw and ran for over 200yds against one of the best teams in college football history in his title game, including the winning drive late. Had the Heisman been given out after the bowl games Young would of been unanimous pick.

So, yeah.

Reggie Bush was the best player in college football that year, Reggie Bush won the heisman, Reggie Bush deserved the heisman, and Reggie Bush should still have his heisman because he one of those players you'll never forget watching. But I agree, Vince Young played one hell of a game in that Rose Bowl, but you can't say Reggie shouldn't have won the heisman.

Reggie Bush was so deserving of the Heisman when USC had to try and convert 4th and 1 late in that game, he was on the bench and they went with Lendell White. Bush won the Heisman due to ESPN's hype machine and constant airing of his highlights. VY was the best player in the country that year, by a mile, and proved it versus Bush on his own turf.

if I have to explain it to you, then you wouldn't understand anyway.

You act like Lendale White was a slouch... You know he did play in the nfl so he couldn't have been that bad... And you are telling me that Bush didn't deserve the heisman because on 4th and 1 he's on the sideline and the coach decided to go with his 250 lb beast of a back rather his 210 lb athletic mismatch of a back??? 4th and 1, you give it to the guy that runs downhill. Like I said, I aware Vince played the game of his life that night, and Reggie turned the ball over early trying to make a play and it messed with his head, no doubt about it. Reggie deserved the heisman, no one can take that from him.

This got so off topic. I have been such a Cam hater even when he was at Auburn, I thought he would suck in the NFL, but he's awesome. That's the only word for it.

No point is biggest play of their season and Bush wasn't even on the field. That sound Heisman like to you? Take him away from that Trojan team and they are still dominant. Compare that to VY.

This guy just gets it. Does the guy not get that on 4th and 1 CBB puts in Kody Walker just as much as AC?

Take him away from the team and they are still dominant??? They were loaded no doubt, but give credit where it's due, he did everything for them. He rushed for almost 1800 yds, had almost 500 yds receiving, and had almost 500 yds in kick returns.

Compared to how many on the Trojans?

Now what?

For what it's worth... BA put up better passing numbers this year than Vince did his "heisman worthy" season. And yes I know Vince ran for a grand, so don't even go there. Ha

Let me guess, you don't like that he shows emotion? That he's not a robot? That he doesn't do it like you would? Not everybody's stiff as a tree like you. I guess professional soccer players aren't acting like professionals either. Especially the women
Exactly. Aaron Rodgers does his stupid belt celebration and gets a commercial for it. What Cam Newton does is no more harmful than that. Cam has been incredible in that community and does a lot of voluntary things for the community even though he doesn't have to. Tom Brady acts like a loon yelling on the sideline and at people. What the heck is his definition of a professional?

Doing everything for your team is being the leading passer AND rusher like Young did becoming the first to ever pass for 3,000 and rush for 1,000. Doing everything for your team is passing for 267 and rushing for 200 in the biggest game of your life.

If "did everything" includes Lendale White's 1302yds rushing that season, then yes Reggie was a one man show. BTW, White lead the team in TD's too with 26, which was 8 more than Bush had. Bush had approximately 2200yds (1750 rushing/450 receiving approximately) total from line of scrimmage. White approximately 1500yds (1300/200) from line of scrimmage. Not to mention Leinert and the USC passing game.

VY had 1050 rushing and 12 TD's, to go along with 3,036yds passing and 26 more TD's. He was the focal point of their offense, everything went through him.

Why in the world would someone not go there? Its kind of important.
Vince Young got depressed bc he wasn't considered a god anymore after he left Austin, Reggie got more rich and started banging Kim Kardashian, tell me who is the real winner there???
