Basketball season

No one is really talking about this basketball . Are we just setting ourselves up for disappointment. What are the chances it actually happens ? Everyone is really just going about it like a normal year but if football gets shut down basketball is quick to follow. I love football but it’s no secret what’s expected in basketball this year . What precautions could be implemented with basketball that you really can’t with football to make this season happen

Big12/SEC Merger

I’m sure this has been mentioned in some thread before but if the B12, SEC and possibly ACC are the only P5 conferences playing this fall the door is going to be sitting wide open for a power conference merger like we’ve been hearing about for years.
I think the B12 will push for doing it with the SEC, and the obvious differences between how the P12 and B10 see things these days will make things very open to discussion. If the fall season is successfully played by the big three the P12 and B10 will be in a world of hurt IMO. The big three will have a wave of talent to choose from with players opting to get out of those two conferences.
Lotta ifs ands and buts involved if it goes as scheduled now, I think those two conferences will be on life support. The difference between now and spring is a long time for a college athlete to stay in no mans land when others are playing.

Football season ticket holders 7th game idea

Was thinking about it today, would be nice if those of us that applied early and got the 7th game for free and now we’re not getting that game anymore if the school would provide free non-alcoholic beverages for the season...I know the booze...but realistically it would be a nice benefit for going to the game. Several avenues, but I think we should get something out of that.

Obviously assuming we play Fall ball...

Football 2020 Arkansas Camp Preview: Secondary

I made a bold prediction for the secondary depth chart. Not sure if it happens, but I won't be shocked if a similar "surprising" move ends up happening... https://arkansas.rivals.com/news/2020-arkansas-camp-preview-secondary

Special teams tomorrow to finish the series and then *crosses fingers* camp on Monday!

Season BB Tickets?

Does anyone know definitively how many season ticket holders are now. It’s obviously dropped over the years, but believe w/Muss about to be on rapid rise.
My season tickets were filled and thinking if we get to play ball this season that will prolly be the limit. Make for a much hotter ticket. Do we have 15K any longer?

FB Recruiting HawgBeat Big Board Notebook: August 10, 2020

https://arkansas.rivals.com/news/hawgbeat-2021-target-big-board

It was an eventful weekend for the Hogs, first landing 2022 TE Dax Courtney then 2021 small forward Chance Moore. The 2022 class is coming in hot, I think James Jointer could be the next in-stater to jump on board. He's got two teammates already committed and has always been all Hog so now that the class is moving, feels like it's only a matter of time. We know Chamblee is all Hog as well and Isaiah Sategna, who just picked up an Auburn offer, is trending strongly towards Arkansas right now too.

Arkansas had a visitor this weekend, SC OL Eli Henderson, and he absolutely loved it. He did some kind of tour and got to see all around Fayetteville. Really think he could decide to pull the trigger soon but it just depends. A lot of schools want to see tape of him snapping and once they do the offers will role in. However, Pittman is like his "grandpa" so even if he does get more offers, Hogs will still be at the top.

They also had a punter visit campus, Kohl's 5-star Cooper Allan out of Tennessee. I suspect he's a strong candidate to join the class if PWO punter offer Patrick Foley out of Nebraska gets a scholarship offer from somewhere else.

There wasn't much positive on the 2021 big board this week. Three defense backs came off the board: Michigan corner Maxwell Hairston cut a top 7, Indy corner Kamal Hadden also cut a top 7 and Texas safety Devin Lemear committed to Baylor. I think they only take one more DB anyways so they have some wiggle room.

Things are still strong with Markevious Brown but like I posted the other day, if he's going to make a decision sooner than later I think he could choose to stay home and play for the Canes.

Hogs have big competition for John Howse out of Tennessee like Michigan and Nebraska so we'll see.

I added old target Andrew Mukuba to the board, he's still talking to the Hogs but his top 12 is stacked and he's trending towards Texas as a decision gets closer.

I also added Memphis JUCO DT commit Myron Green to the board. He told me with JUCO football pushed to the spring he's just taking things slow and seeing what happens but Memphis folks think he's on flip watch.

Cameron Ball, DT out of Georgia, announced this weekend that he's narrowing his choices down although he's been pretty flip-floppy between not rushing and announcing so we'll see. The recruits are still after him hard.

Some folks have noticed Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan has kinda quieted down recently, leading to questions about his status as a commit but team source said he's been normal with the coaches. We'll see. Never a good sign when someone's gung-ho and then their enthusiasm dies off. He didn't even tweet or retweet Dax's commitment.

89 targets left on the board, 6 spots to fill.

I believe the analysts are releasing the updated rankings for the 2022 class next week and updated rankings for 2021 the week after that.
