Nebraska Frost says they may play in Big 12 ....Lets join them !

Article in Dallas Morning news about Big 10 planning to vote on not playing this season. Several coaches said they want to play. Nebraskas Frost says they prefer to play in Big 10 , but we will play elsewhere.

Realizing he is a coach and a not an AD or president, I still am intrigued if Big 12 could offer Nebraska and one other school a reentry plan and score a big win for the conference.

If that happened and Arkansas could be the “other” school to make it a true big 12 (not 10 or 11), I would be very happy. May take us a few years to contractually get out of SEC, dont know.

As Ive said before... this where we FIT .....and the conference has some great programs. Arkansas and Nebraska would really add something to that conference. And it would be a great basketball conference and baseball conference. We would bring A LOT in those sports.

Texas will be Texas, But unless they want to join the SEC, where else are they going to go? Used to be the threat of the PAC, but that conference is weak, weak in football. And imagine recruiting Texas kids and saying your friends and parents can watch you play at 10PM every other weekend, and of course for your home games. And as far as the SEC, The Aggies would do everything in their power to prevent that.

Just dreaming. But the landscape will change and I hope HY is thinking past trying to get a ,failed before it starts, 2020 football season going.

tMB got me all fired up again

Over just how badly DMac got screwed out of the Heisman in 2006. There was a thread title that posed the question of least deserving Heisman winner. Naturally I thought of 2006.

Troy Smith's Heisman campaign:
203 cmp 311 att 65.3% 2,542 yards 30 TDs 6 INTs

BRANDON. ALLEN'S. senior season:
244 cmp 370 att 65.9% 3,440 yards 30 TDs 8 INTs

Either DMac got screwed, or Brandon Allen got screwed. You tell me

WTH thinking as a youth vs an adult.

Biddy got me to thinking from a thread down below as far as thinking they were high society when eating at Bonanza as a youth... lol. Oh thy young minds.

But for me, I honestly thought as a kid "6-7years old" that the coolest job in the world was the guy hanging off the back of the trash truck flying down the road. I wanted that job.

Okay shoot.... let's laugh.

Alright, which one of you was this?

A man from Booneville, Ark., planted unsolicited mystery seeds he received from China weeks before government officials issued their warnings not to, and now that plant has been “prepped for incineration,” a spokesperson from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture told Fox News.

The plant in question grew white fruits and orange blossoms that reportedly looked similar to a squash plant after having been grown for two months. After conducting an internal analysis, agriculture experts in Arkansas have determined the Booneville plant to be a species that is native to South and Southeast Asia.

“Department staff performed an unofficial identification of the plants and determined that it was Benincasa hispida – common name: Wax Gourd, Winter Melon, Chinese Watermelon. Out of an abundance of caution the plant material was incinerated,” wrote Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Public Information Manager Anna Thrash in an email. “After further discussion with our USDA partners we will be transferring plant material collected in the future to them for official identification.”

The Booneville plant is one of the few if not only confirmed instances of the questionable foreign seeds being planted in the U.S. Though, thousands of Americans have reported receiving unsolicited seed packets largely from China and sometimes from Uzbekistan.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture and state officials began warning the public to not plant the seeds last month after it was established that these mailings were not isolated incidents. Several species have been successfully identified by the agency’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

“The seeds APHIS has identified so far are not uniform or of any particular type. They include a mixture of ornamental, fruit and vegetable, herb, and weed seeds,” a spokesperson for the USDA told Fox News via email. “Some of the species identified include cabbage, broccoli, kale, celery, coriander, cilantro, sunflower, Ivyleaf Morning-Glory, Lavender, Basil, Rose, and Garden Tomato.”

More than 9,000 emails from private citizens throughout the country have been sent to the USDA regarding unsolicited seeds, according to USDA APHIS Deputy Administrator Osama El-Lissy. In the agency’s Tuesday radio broadcast, he revealed that the USDA has collected 925 seed packages so far.

Football Big12 presents conference schedule, adjusts path foward

Big 12 members have committed to enhanced COVID-19 testing that includes three tests per week in “high contact” sports, like Football, Volleyball and Soccer. Additionally, return to play protocols after positive occurrences will include an EKG, troponin blood test, echocardiogram, and cardiac MRI. Non-conference football opponents must also adhere to COVID-19 testing protocols that conform to Big 12 standards during the week leading up to competition.

The “9+1” scheduling model features a September 26 start date for Conference play. Each team will have a minimum of two bye dates and potentially a third bye late in the season. The Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship Game is tentatively scheduled for December 12. All non-conference games must be completed before September 26 and the match-ups will be announced by each individual conference member. Stadium capacities will be determined by each member institution in accordance with local and/or state health ordinances, and working with government officials.

@EDSBS Charity Bowl

If y'all don't follow Spencer Hall (@edsbs) on twitter, #1 you should, and #2 he does a charity bowl every year to raise money for New American Pathways. You donate an amount that's relevant to something about your school and they keep a leaderboard of how much was donated for each school. Our own @cdriver put this on the twitter this morning. I donated $31.10 for the 10 points that #31 Leigh Tiffin left on the field (3 missed FGs/1 missed XP) the last time we beat Bama in 06. So if you have the means, NAP is a great cause.
