FB Recruiting Razorbacks score with recruits after streak-ending win

JUCO DL Myron Green used to have Memphis commit in his twitter bio, he doesn't any more. Says he'd like to visit whenever possible

Unpopular Opinion: Briles called a fantastic game.

Simply put, the execution has to be better.

1st Drive: Gets blown up when Burks gets hung up behind Cunningham who gives too much ground. This is a power shovel concept that the Chiefs used to run a lot with Alex Smith and Travis Kelce. The play is there if Cunningham doesn't give up so much ground.
2nd Drive: Gets down to the 3. Drive ends on 4th down on a bad read by KJ Jefferson. If he hands the ball off on the power read, Smith walks in the end zone. I don't disagree that Feleipe should have been in instead of KJ but it was still there if executed.
3rd Drive: Touchdown
4th Drive: Ends with a power read give to Smith on 3rd down. Latham falls down pulling for the linebacker who ends up making the play. I don't know if he ends up getting the first down anyway but has a lot better chance if Latham keeps his feet.
5th Drive: Touchdown.

Up to this point, we have moved the ball extremely well. Also somewhere in the first 5 drives was the missing drive because of the terrible production crew for the game.

From this point on, I can't remember the order of the drives, but here is how every drive ended.

-Jet sweep to TJ on 1st down. Gets blown up because Stromberg doesn't block DT. Could have been a 5-6 yard gain. Made matters worse when Morris got called for block in the back to make it 1st and 20. Never overcame it.
-The fumble came on the same jet read that we had successfully run two times for first down with Franks. I think it was the right read but the OLB got up on Warren too fast and I think he pulled away before he had possession of the ball.
-Devion Warren drops a pass on 2nd down that hits him in the chest that would have been a 30ish yard gain.
-The only one that I think was a bad call was on the 3rd and 1 in the 3rd quarter where everybody thinks we should have gotten under center and done a sneak. But, you should be able to get 1 yard. End of story.

Finally, we didn't run a single reverse the entire game so I'm tired of people on twitter saying "stop with the reverses, etc." We ran only one jet sweep to Hammonds that got blown up and we ran a jet read 3 times that was successful twice and a fumble on the third time. Big difference between a reverse and a jet sweep.

This is just my opinion based on a rewatch of the game. We need to execute better, but during the 2nd quarter and the first drive of the third quarter, we looked extremely sharp and if that becomes more consistent, we are going to surprise a lot more teams.

One play on D, I haven’t heard as much about, but was amazing

Was Blair going vertical with the receiver in the endzone, and pulling the wr hands/arms off the ball in mid air.
Then the wr dropped the ball hitting the ground, on what could have been the game tying touchdown

so many great plays and heroes on D this past week, but I haven’t seen or heard Blair’s play being talked about as much.
Sorry if I missed someone posting about it, but I thought that was not only a huge play in the game but also a freakishly athletic smart effort on his part knowing he couldnt get to the ball

Asinine Quote From Fisher on A&M

1) He's acting like he came into this awful situation: A&M averaged finishing 12th in the country in recruiting the three years before he got there
2) What kind of a comment is: "Well, we actually anticipated to win this one
?" Is he indicating he went into games previous to this anticipating a loss? Obviously you and I can think that because it's not our job to ensure it doesn't happen. But how can you inspire greatness from your team if you're going, "Hey guys, just go out and have fun. We're not going to win this."

Db coach Sam carter

Odom is a beast! No freaking doubt! But don’t forget about Sam carter the secondary coach! I really think he’s coached them up individually as a group and got them playing that way. He brings a lot of swagger with him and I think the guys play off him. He was an aggressive player when he played. And he’s teaching them to fly up and lay the wood. I think he’s super underrated.

Color Commentators & Analyst

One thing winning will fix: Our players get some damn respect with in game color analyst and commentators. It was annoying the hell out of me the last few games when some of our best players were getting injured and they were never discussed or even recognized they weren’t in the game? How do you not mention the whole game that our two starting defensive ends were not present? Or the fact that Burkes, our biggest offensive threat all of a sudden hasn’t been in the game? The only players they seemed to know were Boyd, Franks, and now Pool. Hopefully winning changes that.
