5’11” 175 lbs CB x 2

Just like most of you I don’t necessarily like seeing the measurables of our 2 CB commits, especially when the scouting reports don’t mention blazing speed in the first paragraph. But, when is the last time you read scouting reports on Razorback CB commits with comments like these?

Lowery: He is a sure tackler and brings big-hit potential when opportunities present itself. He doesn't shy away from being physical with receivers and blockers to navigate to the football in a hurry.

Parker: “He has above-average short-area quickness to jar the ball loose and be physical defending wide receivers. He does not shy away from big hits and roaming the entire field to hit ball-carriers.”

I don’t put much stock into these scouting reports unless a kid has been to a ton of camps etc. However, I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t at least a little excited about the idea of adding some CB’s who know how to make a tackle and want to play physical. Nothing pisses me off more when watching us play than the piss poor tackling effort and execution we’ve seen on defense from our secondary the last several seasons!

NEW MOD

Howdy folks!

I'm excited to announce @mcbmd as the newest member of the mod team. He's active, he keeps up with what's going on with the Hogs avidly so he can answer questions when i'm occupied, he's level-headed and fair-minded.

Yall have done a prettttyyyy good job since we re-restricted the majority of political discussion so I want to thank you guys for that! We don't get many people reporting each other but just wanted to remind yall that if you really do take issue with something, the report feature is still the best way to get it handled.

Ron Crawford

I’m sure some of you saw this, but for anyone who may not have seen the announcement by his family Ron has been moved into hospice care.

Ron was the coach of the Wings AAU team that has had a who’s who of Arkansas basketball talent in their program over the years. He led them to a National Championship several years ago. He was also a regular on sports radio in Arkansas.

Ron was also a contributor to my website ArkansasVarsity.com.

I don’t know any details other than what the family has released, but I am saddened at this news.
