OT, interesting documentary on U.S. Grant last night on the

history channel...middle initial was actually H but when his father enrolled him into West Point (without his knowledge or consent) they accidentally put an S instead of an H. Fascinating story. Had to resign from the military after West Point due to drinking problems but was conscripted back when the civil war broke out. People need to stop revising or abolishing history and instead just learn from it. There is no Utopian society that exist outside of the minds of college professors.

FB Recruiting Commitment Analysis: Chris Paul

Sorry! Been on vacation with family this past week and I try my best to stay away from my phone to give my attention to wife and kids during that time.

It was hard ALL the time because I had about 4-5 commits I had to do for guys who had set that up with me weeks in advance, but other than that, I was away from social media, my phone, rivals...etc.

Nikki I know had you all covered with Christopher Paul's commitment. I just got back home this afternoon and I am getting settled back in.

I have seen Paul live in practice/camp/game over half a dozen times.

Here are some some quick thoughts:

  • Really like the mental make-up of this young man
  • A leader by example
  • Not a flashy LB, but a gamer and one who stays around the ball
  • Can fill that A-B gap in the middle
  • Will hit you
  • A strong tackler
  • Best in the box
  • Would like to see a little more quickness and better re-direction in space
  • Can rush the QB
  • Good frame... Somewhat compact, but well put together
  • Overall, I really like this pick-up for the Hogs. To me, he is a very good football player. Again, not a flashy kid who is going to wow with his speed or size, but one who has great instincts, one who has a high football IQ, one who stays around the ball and one who is always working.
I plan to see him again later this month as long as things keep going this summer in Georgia, so I will have more when I can.
