Lashlee - SMU

Just browsing 2025 recruiting rankings. Had no idea how much this guy is killing it with recruiting. Currently 23rd with 7 4-stars and a bunch of 5.7 guys. For context, their two top players in 2023 were both 5.7 3-stars. They also signed 6 2-stars that year.

I get that moving to the ACC changes the recruiting landscape but when you’re only behind Miami, Clemson and FSU, you’re doing something right.

I could see them only winning 7 games based on how the schedule sets up but he has to be at the very top of our list, right? And I know he just signed an extension.

O line question

I would like to know how many plays this year a defensive player has come thru untouched? It seems like it’s about every other play? I’m hearing a lot of talk about Taylen’s accuracy and decision making. When an SEC caliber player gets a free shot, I don’t care who is back there, there is no time for accuracy or decision making. How are we so bad at picking people up? I get sometimes you call the right blitz but it seems like it’s about every other play????

Taylen Green

If I learned anything yesterday, it’s that Taylen is a competitor. He showed a lot of toughness. He gets first downs with his legs and seems to give 100% to get them. He is a capable passer but ……. Is the problem that the other receivers aren’t getting open or is he just locked into Armstrong? I’m guessing it’s a little of both. When he has a little time, he seems to do fine. I hope he and Bobby can figure that out. But again I love his toughness and see a ton of upside. I’m going to enjoy this week, they found a way to win instead of the opposite!

WR Recruiting?

I expected it to be bad after the hiring of Fouch as WR coach but didn't think it could be this bad. Perhaps it ends up being portal or bust again? Should we have confidence that he can do well in the portal. We have one commit in Jordan from Warren. Database only shows 9 offers to uncommitted prospects with ZERO offers out to 2025 WRs in the state of Texas in what I'd consider a better than average year for WR in the state. Totally unacceptable imo but what do I know?

Arkansas football availability report - Texas A&M week

The final availability report for Arkansas football's (3-1, 1-0 SEC) Week 5 matchup against the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies (3-1, 1-0 SEC) was released by the Southeastern Conference on Friday.

Introduced over the offseason, availability reports will be updated daily ahead of Arkansas' SEC-opener Saturday. The final update will be provided 90 minutes before kickoff. Availability reports will only be issued for conference games, which is why none were supplied for the first three weeks of the season for the Hogs.

According to the SEC, student-athletes will be designated as "available", "probable", "doubtful" or "out" for their next game. For additional clarity on game day, student-athletes will be designated as "available", "game time decision" or "out."

Below is the final availability report update of the week ahead of Arkansas' game against Texas A&M, which will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas:

Cornerback Jaylon Braxton - Out

Starting cornerback Jaylon Braxton has missed the last two weeks for the Razorbacks while dealing with tendonitis and a bone bruise, according to head coach Sam Pittman, but has been downgraded to "out" for Arkansas' second SEC game since Wednesday's update.

The 2023 All-SEC Freshman has defended two passes through two games and sports a 56.0 Pro Football Focus defensive grade.

Safety Hudson Clark - Game-Time Decision

After suffering a back injury against Oklahoma State that relegated him to limited action on the special teams unit against the Cowboys, defensive back Hudson Clark did not see the field versus the UAB Blazers or Auburn Tigers.

In games against UAPB and Oklahoma State, Clark has one defended pass and a 72.9 defensive PFF grade. Pittman commented on the importance of getting both Clark and Braxton back this weekend.

"Really big," Pittman said. "I think Hudson Clark has been so valuable for us throughout the last five seasons. Certainly when he was out — and we don’t know whether he can play or not yet this week. But he’s been out, you miss him. Wonderful kid.

"Braxton’s the same way. He just hasn’t been with us as long as Clark has. But very valuable to our team. Great kid. Again, I don’t know if either one of them will be available for Saturday yet. But just really great kids from Texas."

Left Guard Patrick Kutas - Out

This is the least shocking development on the availability report, as left guard Patrick Kutas has yet to debut during the 2024-25 season due to a back injury suffered early in fall camp.

The junior received an MRI scan for his back Aug. 30, and was taken off the Razorbacks' official depth chart for the first time last week. His "out" status paves the way for E'Marion Harris to continue receiving more paying time.

Safety Miguel Mitchell - Out

One of the last remaining question marks on the roster, former Florida safety transfer Miguel Mitchell hasn't suited up for Arkansas yet this season and answers around his situation remain unclear. He's still listed as "out" for the Hogs.

Last season with the Gators, Mitchell played in 11 games (eight starts) and racked up 37 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups and an interception.

Others:

~ Running back Rashod Dubinion - Out
~ Tight end Andreas Paaske - Out (Concussion protocol, according to Pittman)
~ Wide receiver Khafre Brown - Out
~ Wide receiver Monte Harrison - Out

Pittman concerned about Arkansas' health

After Arkansas' physical 21-17 loss to Texas A&M over the weekend, Razorback head coach Sam Pitman told reporters Monday that his team's overall health is concerning entering a showdown against No. 4 Tennessee on Saturday in Fayetteville.

The Head Hog mentioned after the loss to the Aggies that he spoke with Dave Polanski, the team's associate director of sports medicine, during the game about cramps and injuries more than what he normally does. According to Pittman, a majority of the concern right now comes on the offensive side of the ball, specifically at the tight end position.

"Yeah, it is a concern," Pittman said. "We’re going to have to do a good job with some of our key players mentally because we’re not probably going to have them for at least a couple of days, some. And maybe get them back on Wednesday, hopefully. But it is a big concern.

"The ones we’re most concerned about is offensively. The big, physical d-lines I think have taken a toll on our tight end position. That’s the one right now I’m most concerned about. But yeah, I think it gives an advantage. We’re undefeated coming off our bye weeks and a lot of that is because we get our players back."

Star sophomore tight end Luke Hasz exited the game against the Aggies with a pre-existing back issue, plus Eastern Michigan transfer Andreas Paaske was in concussion protocol as of last week and Pittman labeled him as doubtful for the game against the Volunteers. Redshirt sophomore tight end Ty Washington also was banged up ahead of and during the Texas A&M game, but Pittman did not reveal what the injury was.

In the secondary, starting cornerback Jaylon Braxton is apparently still battling injuries. Pittman has mentioned Braxton is dealing with a bone bruise and tendonitis. Veteran safety Hudson Clark hasn't played the last three games due to a back injury, but Clark did dress out and go through warmups for the Texas A&M game.

"I don’t feel great about Braxton, but I feel pretty good about Clark," Pittman said. "(Clark) practiced last week. I believe he could have played if we really needed him to. (Kee'yon) Stewart went down. He was sick.

"I didn’t feel real confident with Clark. Not that he couldn’t play, I thought he was doing it more for the team than what his body physically could handle, and so we elected not to play him at that point. I think we just got to get his confidence that he can hit somebody, and I think he’s closer, obviously a lot closer than he was last week."

Junior running back Rashod Dubinion, who was recently suspended for a violation of team rules, is back and available for the Tennessee game. Dubinion dealt with a knee injury in fall camp, but should be good to go if he puts together a good week of practice.

"We know that he’s a good player from a year ago," Pittman said of Dubinion. "He’s been hurt most of this year. He’s healthy now. You know, one thing you have a suspension, you have this, you do whatever the responsibility is and then after that it’s... We wouldn’t let guys back on the team or anything if we had a grudge or if we had anything like that. It’s what we felt like we need to do. If he’s ready to go and he’s practicing well, we’re going to use him."

Other known players dealing with injuries include receivers Khafre Brown and Monte Harrison, both of whom missed the Texas A&M game with undisclosed injuries. Safety Miguel Mitchell, a transfer from Florida, and offensive lineman Patrick Kutas have both also been out for the whole season to this point.

Tennessee is coming off a bye week, while the Razorbacks are coming off of five straight games in five different venues to start the season. To say the Razorbacks are at a bit of a disadvantage would be an understatement.

"We’re going to try to take a little bit off of them today," Pittman said in regards to Monday's practice. "Not the mental part of it. Not the speed part of it as far as how fast Tennessee goes. But we’ve got to … for us to compete like we need to and how we want to we’re going to have to be smart this week."

Arkansas and Tennessee are schedule for a 6:30 p.m. CT kickoff Saturday at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. The game will be nationally televised on ABC.
