Thanks for sharing. It was a good read. I am familiar with some of those points and they are logical to an extent.
A few points I come back to are:
1. If deficits don't matter then why do we keep track of them? Why don't we just throw away the ledger and not worry about it?
2. It is true that in theory the federal government has limitless money because it can print money but that works because it has buyers for its debt. What would happen if people or countries didn't want to buy American debt?
3. I read a provocative article a few months ago stating that the actual US Govt balance sheet is trillions and trillions higher than reported because the official balance sheet doesn't include certain assets such as offshore mineral rights. If the federal govt wanted to sell those rights they could pay off the debt instantly. I am not necessarily advocating they do that but the option is there.
I guess I will always be a deficit hawk. It is my nature. I am more of an economic conservative and social liberal.

Exactly what I was thinking. Im liberal. I think all drugs should be legalized. I hate the thought of privatizing prison. Im for criminal justice reform. If this was 1990 Trump would be a blazing lib. But its not. The left has went way way way to far for me and a lot like me. This is what you guys dont get. Trump is more lib than Bill Clinton was. We learned in 2016 all about political polls and their flaws, but the Trump campaign / administration just isn’t getting it. This complaint accomplishes nothing. People that were going to vote for him are still going to vote for him and those that are on the fence are increasingly turned off by this sort of thing. I thought it interesting that 44% of the people they polled self reported as Independent politically. The middle ground just isn’t impressed by the tantrums.

In the last couple of weeks we’ve had multiple confederate statues come down, a Texas ranger removed from DFW, a slave trader brought down (and rolled into a river) in Bristol, UK, and a king removed in Antwerp, Belgium. Oh and this morning in MA a statue of Columbus was decapitated.
The Robert E Lee monument in VA was saved by a 10 day injunction, but it will follow.
And to top it all off, NASCAR banned the confederate flag.
Someday historians will spend an entire semester just teaching 2020. And it’s only June.
They will not be stopping there! George Washington and Paw Patrol are squarely in their sights now. Let’s not forget that the constitution was written by slave owners too. Good for Nascar but it will never be interesting.
