I wonder if he will break the streak against a scrappy ORU team?

Defense vs ORU - help me out on thoughts

Tell me where I’m wrong or what I’m missing
we know DD & JW didn’t play much 1st time, now probably draw toughest assignment
i believe most Obanors points came because CV or VJ were on him, and in post JS was not as effective
i cant remember why Abmas was off, did Tate guard him or Desi?

we just need to slow 1 of the 2 down and hold others in check, right?

1. Devo gets Abmas, then Tate can help, even JD. can’t get in foul trouble or send him to line
2. JWill gets Obanor, then JS can help, can’t get in foul trouble or send him to line
*** if hogs can slow both down, or hold 1 of them well below their avg, we win

3. Rest of team lock down their guys (easier assignments) can’t let other players go off, get hot, or above avg
***seems like Glasper had a bigger night or Thompson

4. With Devo and JWill locked in on D with those 2, we don’t usually ask them to be our leading scorers,
***that frees up Moody, Smith, Tate, and JD to take their man on O

5. Rebound (limit them), make FTs, don’t foul, low TOs for hogs/high for them

Thank you DaltonG

I just want to give a S/O to my man @DaltonG

Nobody hits that 😂 emoji more than him in my notifications.

Just wanted to start a dedicated thread to hype up another poster on the Bert.

If you will please tag someone else who makes being on the board a fun experience!

Maybe this thread gets a little fun, maybe I fall flat on my face, but I’m here for it.

Good times in Hog Heaven either way!

BB Recruiting Recruits give thoughts on Arkansas' Sweet Sixteen birth

Still hearing back from some guys and some of these will have some more to add, as well, but I figured we'd start off this Tuesday morning of no basketball with some nice words from some top prospects.

Class of 2022:

Derrian Ford: "They are playing great. I love their defensive intensity and how they kept playing through adversity. It seems that they all have the same goal and that is to win."

On freshmen playing in the biggest game of the year: "It just shows the trust the staff has in the freshmen and that they're ready for that type of moment."

Aidan Shaw: "I'm excited for them. It makes a statement [starting three freshmen] that he [Muss] is playing who he believes will get it done no matter their class/age."

Braeden Moore: "I watched the [Texas Tech] game and very impressed with their style of play and with Coach Musselman."

On starting three freshmen: "I love it and the fact they're open to playing whoever is the best fit for that game situation."

Jordan Walsh: "I feel like Coach Muss along with his staff did a great job preparing their team for the challenges of the tournament. Glad to see they will play anyone they feel like they can win with."

Colin Smith: "That's big time. It's been a while. Speaks on the work they have put in."

Rylan Griffen: "It's cool to see [making the sweet sixteen]. I really like how Coach Musselman keeps in contact. He's a good guy and I'm happy to see his program doing well... I think they have an elite shot at making the elite 8 and maybe further."

On freshmen playing: “Yea it is [impressive]. They have the opportunity and they took advantage of it.”

Also added that being trusted early and early playing time play a factor in his decision.

Class of 2023:

Layden Blocker: "It's a big accomplishment for Coach Musselman and the team to make it to the Sweet 16. If they keep working and improving they can unlock more potential."

On freshmen: "It shows that he trusts them and plays the best players to win no matter if they are freshmen."

On the team's history: "No, I don't know much about those days but I heard stories about when Corliss and Coach Thurman played."

If you would have told me

at the beginning of this season that Vance Jackson would be a non-factor, KK had a season-ending injury at the start of conference play, Desi had fallen off, and Connor was only shooting 32% from three, I would’ve thought the team would be a first round elimination in an 8/9 matchup.

Not saying I didn’t trust the staff to develop guys or make adjustments, but coming into the season I fully expected Vance and KK to be two starters and Sills to play to his preseason All-SEC selection. And CV to be more efficient from deep.

Just unreal to me that instead you have Devo, Tate, and Jaylin playing at a high level, Moody doing more than expected, and Notae being more efficient than expected of late.
