Former Hog players on the board?

I'm curious, and wouldn't be surprised if I'm the only one who doesn't know, but it seems we have several former players on this board. So if it's allowed, and they wouldn't mind, could someone let an ignorant brother know? I'm horrible remembering screen names but I'm gonna guess on a few. I admit for a while I thought the Barry Odom guy really was Coach Odom, but I figured out I'd been had. I believe Demziah-01 played for Nolan probably, and HawkSavage HAD to have been a lineman for us. Mr Razorback I think his name is either played for us or should have, and is bound to be a coach somewhere in TX currently. And PorkRYAN (I probably screwed up his name) either played baseball for us, or coached it, or quite possibly is DVH. This is all pure conjecture on my part and probably incorrect as I'm easily confused. Hell, I was in my 50s before I found out Led Zepplin was not pronounced Lead ZEFFLIN. I'm sure I'm forgetting some others, but these always come to mind. Oh, and I miss that MHOOVER guy, and and happy to see JunkyardHawg back. You guys be careful in this weather!

Last night's lineup / rotation

Was last night the best mix of playing time allocation we have seen this year? I, for one, would love to see a very similar type of rotation going forward. As the season continues to progress, it seems like Devo and Jaylin are increasingly deserving of a solid spot in the rotation and 20-25 minutes each. Vanover getting 10-15 minutes seems right, and if he hits a few shots early (as he did last night, he may get a few more minutes). It is just so refreshing to see a solid 8-9 deep rotation where you are afforded the luxury of playing the hot hand / sitting a guy who is ice cold.

I think it’s reasonable to expect Tate, Moody, and Smith to see 28+ minutes of floor action every nights, and I love to see guys like Desi, Notae, Vanover, Devo, Jaylin, and (to a lesser degree) Vance Jackson vying for the extra minutes. The college season is too short to let guys shoot their way out of slumps if you have the depth, and this is the first time in a looong time I remember having 8-9 guys that could all be “the guy” on any given night.

Hoops RECAP: Tate's FTs, Davis' steal help Hogs beat Kentucky at Rupp (includes full box score + more)

It was a fun one tonight, as Arkansas almost blew a double-digit lead but hung on to beat Kentucky. Here's my recap, complete with quotes from Muss/Devo/Tate, key stats, a full box score, postgame interviews + highlights from @WarMachine2013...

Consistent Issues with Muss

some common issues we’re seeing:

- still can’t break a press
- bad talent eval
- Muss is too emotional himself
- regressing on effort/energy
- bad rotations/subs
- no chemistry on the roster
- inconsistent leash for players on who gets to make mistakes and who doesn’t.

I think all of those are warranted. I’ve had a couple Nevada insiders and national analysts agree with me, too.

Doesn’t mean Muss won’t work out here, but these are things he has to figure out or he won’t last long. Sound extreme? Probably. But the good credit he built up last season by exceeding expectations is quickly disappearing with performances like this, especially consecutively.

Last Four In......

Lunardi's 48 team bracket! I'd say that is pretty good.

We are a projected 9 seed on Bracket Matrix's cumulative tally and are in 93 of the 97 brackets. That is of course based on a 68 team field.

21 in BPI. 28 in Net. 38 in RPI which has improved a lot over the past few weeks. 26 in Pomeroy.

Others do better on these updates but just thought I would share what I'd seen. ghg
